This just in from the Times (the odd symptoms mentioned in the snippet below refer to a kind of dog drunkeness –spinning in circles, head lolling… quite a bit like an encounter with the finest sidwalk pate): “Veterinarians have detected an unusual string of illnesses in dogs that use the dog run at Chelsea Waterside Park, part of the Hudson River Park. Officials are worried that the dogs may have swallowed “an illegal toxic substance” and have urged dog owners who use the run to be more attentive. As WCBS-TV reported on Friday, veterinarians at the NYC Veterinary Specialists and Cancer Treatment Center, an animal hospital in Hell’s Kitchen, noticed a string of referrals of dogs with odd symptoms.
